Things to Remember When Buying Property in Abroad

Fees involved in purchase of a property in Abroad

When buying on the secondary market:
  • The broker’s commission varies between 2% and 5% (plus Tax or Vat) of the purchase price.
  • A certificate of no objection from the promoter / builder can be between $500 and $3,000 plus tax / Vat or more, depending on the terms and conditions of the builder and the country.
  • Registration fees (Provisional/Interim title): from 3% and above of the purchase value of the property + administration costs, it depends on the terms and conditions of the builder and the country.
  • Trustee registration fees
  • Title Transfer Fee
  • The mortgage registration fee (if applicable) is the registered loan amount.
  • Fees for issuing the title deed
  • There may be additional payments associated with service charges and utility payments for properties.

When buying New projcect / off-plan properties:
  • Booking money or Reservation deposit of approximately $10,000 to $50,000, depending on property value; the deposit is adjusted towards the 1st payment for the property.
  • Installments are usually 5% to 10% of the property value paid every three months; practical post-transfer plans are often available.
  • Registration fees (Provisional/Interim title): from 3% and above of the purchase value of the property + administration costs, it depends on the terms and conditions of the builder and the country.
  • There may be additional payments associated with service charges and utility payments for properties.
