Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been colonized by a European power. Thailand is located in the heart of Southeast Asia. Cambodia and Laos border the country to the east and northeast, and Myanmar to the northwest. A revolution in 1932 led to a constitutional monarchy. Thailand is classified as a newly industrialized economy, with manufacturing, agriculture and tourism as its main sectors. Foreigners are not permitted to buy land in Thailand, but you can buy apartments and condominiums as a non-citizen. According to the 1979 Thailand Condominium Law, foreigners can own 100% of a condo or apartment anywhere in Thailand.
